It has taken a while for me to test materials that work well with the end papers of my books for these Kickstarter Elite Collector’s Remarques. In the end, I have settled on creating two original acrylic paintings: one for the front of the book, and one at the back. I also found some perfect gold paint which brings in a beautiful illuminated manuscript vibe.✨

Had a lot of fun creating these page spreads for the new edition of The Companion Sketchbook for my website. After revising and releasing a new hardcover second edition of Book One which includes a host of new illustrations, I wanted to update the Companion Sketchbook to showcase the new images. The sketchbook is 105 pages long, full colour, full page bleed to share concept art and sketches for the world-building along with author notes and some excerpts from the book.

I have been spending quiet hours in the studio over the last few days, signing books, packaging them with care and organizing the fulfillment of the Kickstarter rewards. I stepped away from the studio and its demands for a few days over the holidays, well… sort of. There are always shipments of artwork to monitor this time of year, with delays and such.

In January: The next Kickstarter will soon be on the horizon for Book Two, Keeper’s Burden, and of course I will be waiting with excitement for the first Kickstarter Hardcovers for Book One to arrive at the studio so I can begin the fulfillment.
