A Spotlight on the Collector's Remarques

The Elite Collector's Remarque Rewards from the Custom Hardcover edition of Book One are underway.

Over the past weeks I’ve been deep in the creative stage of planning and sketching the Remarques that will accompany the Custom Hardcover edition of The Messenger From Myris Dar.

Remarques are original drawings or paintings created directly inside a book. Each one is completely unique, and they allow me to return to the world of the story in a very intimate way.

Right now my desk is scattered with reference sketches, pencils, brushes, watercolour and acrylic paints, as I begin these embellishments. It’s the stage where ideas are still fragile and full of possibility… and honestly one of my favourite parts of the entire process.

Hand-painted Edges

I would have loved to print the Custom Edition Hardcovers with sprayed edges, however the cost to do so was not feasible.

So for the Elite Collector's Remarques, I decided to hand-paint my own!

Interior Surprise Sketches

One of the things I really wanted to do for these very special Remarqued editions was to create small sketches within the pages of the book for readers to discover as they experienced the story.

They are meant to be delightful finds to increase enjoyment of the story.
